Trust and safety

How we would keep people and animals safe.

Safety cannot be added later. These are the rules we would build Rehome on, written down before we build anything.

1. Checking people and groups

Shelters, vet practices and rescues would show their charity number, licence or professional registration. Fosters would have an ID check and a home visit before taking in an animal.

2. Listing rules

No deposits to "hold" an animal. You always meet the animal in person before any handoff. No selling animals for profit, no resellers, no unlicensed breeders.

3. Reporting a problem, and appeals

If you report a listing, it is paused while a trained person looks at what happened. Both sides are told why, in writing, and either side can appeal.

4. What AI flags, and what people decide

AI advises. People decide adoptions, medical decisions and sensitive details. AI would only sort notes, spot repeat reports and check photos against known scams. A flag is not a verdict: a person decides every ban or accusation.

5. What is not built yet

None of it, yet. Rehome is an idea we are testing. We have no shelters, vans or vets of our own, and we would always rely on local groups for hands-on care.
